Christmas is Right Around the Corner

Okay, my first thought of that is YIKES!!!!! But seriously folks, it is true. In just three short months, you will be looking at your lists (yes, I know mine will be plural) and checking them twice, thrice, or even four times (LOL! IDK the word for that!). Ahhhhh, the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I must admit, that this is the part that I don't like about Christmas....toooooo much hustle and bustle. I just want it to be all about JESUS! I concentrate on keeping that my focus, as I strive to bless those around me.

I got an email this morning that the Hallmark Ornament Debut Weekend is coming! October 10th and 11th! (They are so cute!!!!) WEEEEE! I LOVE ORNAMENTS!!!! They are so much fun, they make great gifts, and they always bring back memories! When we get our Christmas stuff out and get the tree up, we watch Elf while decorating the tree. MAN, is that a funny movie or WHAT??? Hey, did you click on Elf and watch the clip. Well, then go back and do it!!! Get in the spirit and LAUGH!! Anyway, Taylor knows this movie pretty much my heart. Much in the same way we knew Aladdin (is Robin Williams awesome as the Genie or what?) word for word when she was two...and the Barney songs. Oh boy! Flashbacks! And, these companies aren't even giving me any kickbacks for promoting them!

Okay, back to the Christmas feeling. I am sitting in my office and it is kinda cool, inside not out, but I am so imagining when the weather will get cooler (for a few days, LOL!) and I can actually wear my jeans and a long-sleeved shirt and not sweat. I should maybe think about getting my fall decorations out. Oh, I am getting side-tracked again....

So, what's on your wish list for Christmas?? Tell me, I want to know! I mostly want my family and friends to be happy, healthy and blessed. Well, me, too, but I am there. Well, I did tell my husband yesterday that I wanted a hysterectomy for Christmas. :-/ That kinda kills the Holiday Spirit, but that's what I was feeling at the time. Moving on....

My best girl will be in Cali for Christmas this year. I miss her terribly when she is gone, but she so enjoys seeing her dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. They have a BIG family! That leaves me and the hubby home alone for Christmas. We rarely have alone moments, so I treasure them. We have lots of family around, too, though. We always host the Christmas Eve celebration at our house where the kids open up their presents. Christmas morning will be just the two of us this year. Then, Christmas afternoon we spend at Gail and John's house, stuffing our faces and watching old movies (okay, this is the part where I usually sneak out to read and have a tryptophan induced nap!)

Okay, I am in the Christmas spirit now. YEAH!!! As we all know, though, before Christmas is FOOTBALL SEASON! Now, that is funny. I am really not a big fan, especially of pro ball, but I am a Gator to the core, so I am pretty excited about watching the game today where the Gators will stomp the Vols! So, I must sign off and get some school work done before the 3:30 fame time. WOOOOOO!

Let me know you were here!!

ENOUGH! The Romana Acosta Banuelos Story

Wow! This is one incredible woman and one very good rags-to-riches story! I went to an EXCITe training this weekend and was told her story by Angel Torres, the first Shaklee Master Coordinator in Puerto Rico (who was told he couldn't achieve this in such a small place). Do you know who she is?? Keep reading.

Janet L. Boyd tells the story this way: From a poor family of Mexican-American agricultural workers, Romana Banuelos went on to have her signature affixed to every piece of paper currency printed in the U.S. from 1971 to 1974. After helping her mother build an empanada business in Mexico during the 1930s, Banuelos returned to the United States in 1947, and established a tortilla factory that became a $5 million processor of Mexican food. In 1964, she founded the Pan American National Bank, the only U.S. bank owned and operated by Mexican Americans. In 1969, she established a college scholarship program for Mexican-American students. And in 1971, Banuelos was appointed U.S. Treasurer by Richard Nixon. She was the first Mexican-American woman to hold such a high government post.

"My mother...taught us how to live in any place and work with what we have." - Romana Banuelos

Angel Torres told us about her in more detail. Living in poverty, Romana frequently asked her husband for money for essentials like food and clothes for the children. He constantly told her no. At one point Romana got fed up and said, "ENOUGH!" Now, I want you to think about this for a moment. Not just speaking the word "enough", but getting to the boiling point and yelling, "ENOUGH!" Try it...really yell it out! I know I have been at that point many times where I thought I had had enough, but it was not actually my tipping point, the point where I am not going to take it any more and I have had ENOUGH and I am going to do something about it!

You may be recalling a time in your life when you have been there. You may be think.....I am there RIGHT NOW! If you are, what are you going to do about it. Yes, DO about it. Yelling it isn't going to change the situation. You must take action. If you don't take action, I think you are not really at your tipping point. I have been there....you want to do something about it, but you never do....you haven't had ENOUGH!

I challenge you to think about this. If you have had ENOUGH, take action. Be like Romana in her rags-to-riches story. MAKE IT HAPPEN! Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee said, "Your future is what you decide to make it."

The answer to my rags-to-riches story is http://www.mylittlegreenleaf.com/.

Bless you!!

Home alone??

Weird, weird, weird. It is a hot Saturday night. Sounds like I have no air conditioner, but you know like a "Hot Date"? Well, It is a hot Saturday night and here I am. We got home this evening from Palm Beach Gardens and then everyone that made the "we" "we" left. My family was not home when I got here. Of course Taylor is almost always gone or has her eyes glued to the computer on facebook, or her thumbs glued to her AT&T phone texting, so that is the same thing. Buzzy is in the Keys for the final day. And I am here alone. It is so quiet. I don't watch much TV and there isn't much on anyway, so it is OFF! YEAH!!!! I was about to keel over about 8:00, but hung on and now it is past my bedtime again. I just don't feel like I can go to bed all alone. LOL!
This made me think....have I ever lived alone? And no, I haven't. I house-sitted for a month in the summer when I was in college, but that was it. Wow, that is weird. I have either had roommates, or family living with me (or me with them) at all times. Not that that means anything, but I just came to that realization.
I talked to my hubby this evening. They caught an 8 foot shark last night!!! WOWSERS! They/We have also gotten 313 lobsters in two weeks. This is everyone in the family coming and going and hunting day after day after day. They are happy! It has been a good year! BTW, since we live in Florida, why can't we see more Florida Lobster here. I don't mean in the water, I mean in stores and such. I always see Maine Lobster. Those are the ones with the big honking claws (is that what they are called?). But the native Floridians are not like that. The Florida Keys Fishing Directory can tell you all about it.
Since I am a blogging rookie, AND it is almost midnight, I am not going to attempt to put pictures up from our adventures, but I will certainly figure this out soon, to make think gs more exciting. :-) Anyone with hot tips on this, please let me know.
Okay, now that I have blah, blah, blogged, I am off to bed. Studying tomorrow for Monday's Chemistry test. that should keep me busy while I wait for my true love to come home! And, of course, Taylor. I never quite know when she will show up.
Blessings to you all!

All About Me!

GOOOOOOOD Morning!!!!

Before I get into this rare subject, I must take a moment to reflect and remember all of those who were affected by the tragedy in NYC. God bless all of those people! We truly live in a wonderful country and I am so thankful who chose to defend it. I promptly went out this morning in my jammies even and proudly displayed our flag.

Last year for my birthday I got several gift certificates to La Bella Spa. Oooooh la la. FINALLY, today, I am putting them to use. I figure I better use them up or I won't be getting any more for my birthday THIS year. :-) Up first, a one hour massage. This will be follwed by a spa pedicure. I can't wait! It has been way, way too long.

Let the day continue....home for my usual Cinch lunch then I am going to see my hairdresser for a cut and color. Oh yeah, it has been way, way too long for that, too. :-) Gonna wash those grays right on out.

This is what the Lobster Widow does while her husband is in the Keys without her. I have time to do it. YEAH! Did I mention yet how much I love Fridays?

We are off to Excite tonight to learn about the amazing opportunity to earn $100,000 on the Fast Track. Team 3-2-1 is Making it Happen!!!

Oh, I almost forgot that we are staying at my all-time favorite brand of Hotel....Embassy Suites! YEAH!!!!

Have a blessed day!! I am truly blessed and I pray the same for all of you.

Whew! What a day!

So, here I am blogging. Why? Well, why not? I see other people doing it and some are ROTFL funny! Also, I like to see and hear what other people are up to, so I thought I would give a little back. :-)

So, here goes.

Today, I headed off to Chemistry class. Yes, at 42, I decided that I was going to go back to school. I love it, but it sure takes a lot of time recalling those brain cells that know how to find percentages of products in chemical reactions. However, it is nice to be stimulating them once again.

After that, the whirlwind picked up pace. As a personal trainer, one of the things that I do is go to Assisted Living Facilities once a week and do fitness with the residents. This is quite a treat. Every once in a while, I hear something totally hilarious...this would be one of those things that YOU can read that is ROTFL funny. See?? LOL! I crack me up. Most of the time, I can almost predict what they will say....they tell me the same stories over and over. It is precious. I always react with something like, "Wow!! Really???" I go to one house each Wednesday and four houses each Thursday. Remember, add this to my school schedule.

Okay, so next, I am off and running, literally, heading to the gym. NICE workout! I followed this up with some Physique, so I will be able to walk tomorrow. It also suffices as a snack so I don't have to gnaw the counter while I am making dinner. After my workout, I gave a little back to my client, who also happens to be the owner of the assisted living facilities. It is a beautiful thing.

At this point, LET THE WEEKEND BEGIN! Woo Hoo!! Since school started, I love Fridays so much. No school, and one client on Friday afternoon. Tomorrow, I am going to Excite, so I won't have a client. Happy Weekend!

So, now, I am hanging with my girlie friend blogging and internetting and facebooking and all of that 21st century stuff that I am trying to catch up with. Man, she has it going on. We did have some rockin' fish tacos for dinner, but we are up so late now that we are thinking about food again. :::deep sigh:::

Okay, thanks for reading...you did read, right?? I will be more awake tomorrow....oh that is almost today.
